The Egyptian Prophecy - Box

The Egyptian Prophecy
Ages: Everyone

You know, I liked this game. I like everything Egyptian, I like it that the main character is a girl. I like wandering in the temple. I like walking around the dusty workmen's enclave. I like going inside the house of the temple architect, I liked going by the Nile and seeing other monuments. I even liked the puzzles which were intricately keyed to the game and not too difficult. I think you will like this one too.

The story starts with the Pharaoh Ramses II who asks Amun-Re to extend his life. The god is willing to do so if the Pharaoh will build the largest obelisk ever constructed. When construction begins it becomes clear that accidents and mysterious occurrences are holding up the construction. A young sorceress, Maya, is asked to investigate and rectify this situation.

In the course of her investigation, she will visit various sites including the underworld and relate with workers and gods. There is a lot of clicking and gathering items -- some very strange. Maya will have to mix exotic potions and acquire magic spells.

The developers spent much time getting the background correct and so besides enjoying the game -- you are seeing an accurate depiction of Egypt and its culture. Well worth your time.
